A giant Ferris wheel for Premier Rides Besides the manta ray themed roller coaster that should open next year at Sea World San Diego, the American manufacturer bets on the development of shopping and leisure centres.
An example is the forthcoming opening at Meadowlands, NJ, of an 88-metre Ferris wheel (the biggest in America), which dons the colours of Pepsi. It is a shopping mall near the New York stadiums where multiple entertainment activities centres already draw 50 million visitors annually. The wheel, of the same type as the London Eye, will also be operated by the Merlin group. It will offer a view of the Big Apple and the Hudson River.

S&S Power in Europe
On June 1st, 2009 the American manufacturer will deliver the world's fastest roller coaster in Nürburgring (Germany). It will reach 217 km/h in 2.4 seconds using a air launch system. Additionally, they will deliver Mumbo Jumbo, a roller coaster, similar to the Steel Hawg opened in Indiana Beach (USA) this year. Another is also planned for July at Flamingoland, United Kingdom. Also new in 2009: the world premiere of the Free Fly Coaster, also known as Eagle, this summer at Sommarland Skara in Sweden, under the name Tranan. The 500-metre long, 20-metre high circuit will have a 900-passenger/hour capacity.
Sally gives the “Goosebumps”
After installing in September the Night in White Satin Dark ride at Hard Rock Park (Myrtle Beach, USA) and added special effects and robots at the beginning and the end of Ghost Blasters 2 at Elitch Gardens (Denver, USA), Sally Corporation will install, for Easter 2009, a Dark ride at Legoland Windsor identical to that of Legoland California.
On the projects side, Sally is working on Dark rides under the Goosebumps franchise. It is a reference for children and young adolescents from worrisome universe inspired from novels (350 million books translated into 32 languages have been sold worldwide), TV series, DVDs and website. The concept of a ride based on this world “but not too scary”, with the same effects as those used for Night in White Satin (UV3D), has everything to appeal to families. The U.S. firm is considering two different designs in size and price to suit both small and large parks.
Triotech: Trends incredibly good The company from Quebec, an arcade game and movie simulator specialist, displays a healthy turnover of around 7 million euros (11 million Canadian dollars).
Triotech has put a lot of faith in its 3D XD movie theater of which nearly 40 have already been installed worldwide. Singapore, Dubai, Russia and Saudi Arabia have seen the arrival of the XD last October. The Canadians also rely on the ship market with an installation on the MSC Fantasia, which is being built by Aker Yards in St. Nazaire (France), and another on the American aircraft carrier and museum USS Intrepid.
The Stomper arcade game, with its interactive floor and geared primarily for FEC, is also a great success with 100 copies sold and new games planned. Finally two new films are to be released for the XD in 2009: one of them will see its action take place in the Grand Canyon.
