
More than 5,000 professionals from the €3.2 billion European attractions industry gathered at Euro Attractions Show (EAS) 2008 in Munich, Germany, 30 September – 2 October, to see what’s new. They learned more about what’s driving the business in 15 professional development programs, discussed important trends and issues in a variety of regional and national meetings, and networked with a number of key industry leaders from throughout Europe.
Buyers at EAS 2008 – Munich came from 64 countries and represented all major attractions and corporate chains in Europe. The trade show floor featured 250 exhibiting companies that covered more than 8,000 sqm of space.
While the attendance did not meet the expectations of some exhibitors, many others had a good show.
More than 1,000 people participated in the Welcome Reception and a sold-out crowd of 800 experienced the world-renowned Oktoberfest firsthand in the Paulaner tent. Most participants thoroughly enjoyed and took full advantage of these special events.

During the Welcome Reception, Roland Mack, Managing director of Europa Park (Germany) was nominated as third vice-president of IAAPA. He will so become President of the Association in 2011.
